Robert Pattinson's MTV Movie Awards Regret: 'I Should've Done A More Coherent Speech'

Robert Pattinson's MTV Movie Awards Regret: 'I Should've Done A More Coherent Speech'

If "New Moon's" sweep of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, following "Twilight's" sweep of the 2009 Movie Awards, didn't already clue you off, "The Twilight Saga" is kind of a big deal.

This year's Global Superstar award category seemingly was created solely for the cast, who have become the figureheads of this cultural phenomenon over the past two years. Unsurprisingly, the award went to leading man Robert Pattinson.
MTV News caught up with the man better known as RPattz after he received his award, double fisting that Golden Popcorn with his Best Male Actor award. The Movie Awards are a fan-voted (and nominated) affair, so Rob shouldn't have been too surprised that he walked away with both awards, but he still seemed a little flustered at the enormity of it all.

"I should have done a more coherent speech for the Global thing," he said, though for what it's worth he didn't even know he had received two awards when he went up to accept his Best Male win. "It's just so ridiculous. I still don't have any idea what's going on. I just have to keep working to not explode.

It seems so long ago, but it was only two years ago at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards that we first saw Rob and Kristen Stewart walk the Movie Awards red carpet to promote "Twilight." "It's crazy for it to have accelerated so quickly," Rob reflected, looking a little baffled at how far things have come.

Still, that doesn't mean that he isn't completely thankful for everything "The Twilight Saga" has brought him. "I'm incredibly appreciative of every little piece that's come together so I can be living this ridiculous life," he said
